Race Day at Laguna Seca

x

If you thought that receiving the new Mini GP was so fantastic, there was great excitement at Laguna Seca on Race Day.
When going out to start up the new Mini GP this morning one of the original owners was having some changes to the bumper due to a deep pothole. Anyway it was on to Laguna Seca for the parade lap at the track.
After arriving at Laguna Seca we went to the mini corral and saw literally hundreds of old and new; customized and factory Mini Coopers waiting for the parade lap at Laguna before the vendors were to be visited.
As the time came closer to driving at Laguna we were told that if our cars were ready then to get in line. We had "parked"at the end as the other spaces had been taken. The last shall be first was more than just another Biblical saying. Because of our position in the lineup we were the second GP to line up. It was as we were on the track that our second place position resulted in being in first place with a couple from Texas. As usual my co-pilot was ready and operated the cameras.
The pictures today came from her handling that "chore" while I down shifted on the track.
The track was just fantastic especially at the "corkscrew" turn.
After the fantastic trips around the course (two fantastic trips) we visited the vendors and picked up some Minitakesthestates items. We learned that Paul Newman was in the earlier group of drivers in antique classic vehicles. One of the books by champion race drivers was nother item for the return to home-base beginning Monday.
Mini had lunch for us again and then it off to motoring.
